Sound Healing

experience the healing effect of sound on the body, mind & spirit

You can look at disease as a form of disharmony. And there’s no organ system in the body that’s not affected by sound and music and vibration.

- Mitchell Gaynor, M.D. -

Sound Healing serves to create a therapeutic and restorative effect on the body and mind. The practitioner immerses the body in sounds made by a variety of instruments and tools ⏤ crystal singing bowls, metal singing bowls, shruti box, tuning forks, gongs, rattles, drums, and chimes. The resulting sounds, tones, and vibrations flood the body ⏤ allowing for relaxation, nervous system rebalancing, mental clarity, and clearing of energetic blockages.

Sound Healing is nothing new. The therapeutic application of sound can be traced back to the use of didgeridoos by indigenous Australians. Modern research is merely catching up.

FAQ

Sound healing falls under the category of energy healing. Energy healing, also known as energy medicine, is a broad term for modalities that encompass a variety of techniques that work on the body’s energy field. Energy healing is a natural method of raising the body’s own innate vibrational field to a higher level, which clears the blockages that contribute to imbalance and dis-ease.

“Sound bath-ers”, typically lie down on yoga mats, close their eyes, relax, and focus on slowing down their breath. A sound healing practitioner then plays a variety of sound healing tools to coax the nervous system into a parasympathetic state. This sets the stage for the body to go into a state of self-healing, deep relaxation, and meditation.
